Worlds Collide

It was the great meeting of the blogs as 4 friends from LaFayette traveled to Louisville for the weekend to visit Josh and I: G-Knee, Smoothie King, MadMup, and Red Couch. It occurred to me that (with the exception of Jason), I knew all these people from earlier in my life, it has really been because of blogging that I have gotten to know them so much better.

Good times were to be had as we enjoyed delicious Italian food at the restaurant where Josh works, sipped coffee and played Settlers-or-Scrabble at our favorite coffee shop, or took a million pictures by the river after some fresh fish 'n' chips. One felt as though with all the cameras clicking, one might need to watch his words or actions, lest they quite suddenly appear on another's blog! In fact, as Mark so graciously pointed out to ME several times "watch out, Gret, you know that's going up on the blog!"

Below is my camera's pathetic attempt to capture G-Knee and I in front of the L-ville skyline . . . I hope Geen's camera captured it better!

Below is pretty much the way G-knee looked the whole weekend. And that is how Josh and Jason looked.

It was so fun to have you all, and I hope you'll not be strangers now! (*ahem!* this might be a little plea/suggestion to other good friends from college to make a little road trip down this way! *Sarah! Cough*)

Gret! I can't believe you posted so quickly! It was terrific to see you this weekend! Thank you for being a great hostess and taking us to the neat haunts! Perrella's and Heines! Looking for more wonderful visits in the future - Love you! Great pics - btw!

How fun to see your blog friends! I got to see bloggers Sarah and Jill at Jill's wedding shower a couple weeks ago. As an experienced blogger, I made sure to take pics so I could blog about it afterwards. :)

We are leaving and I am really starting to feel sad and emotions are close to the surface. I just read your comments on my blog and again am filled with thankfulness that you are always there, even when you are 7,000 miles away.

It was awesome to see you guys! Thanks for all the fun and we hope to see you again really soon!

I think I might cry! You guys look so cute--I miss you both so much--and I have had a long day. So the combo of the 3 honestly got me a little choked. Not to mention the fact that you want ME of all people to come visit, Gret! :-) Sniff.....I only hope that I can. Although I must warn that it would not be a calm and/or relaxing trip, since my brood would most likely accompany me. Would Joshy care to babysit so we can go out on the town??? :-)

Choked up, I meant.....I was not really choking over the whole thing. ;-)

Geen -- heh, heh, well, I was not traveling all afternoon. Yeah, I'm looking forward to many long talks, cups of coffee and games of Settlers (seriously, I want to go buy that game now).

MR -- Ooooh! I'll have to jump over and look at your pics!

Christen -- thanks for saying goodbye. I woke up this morning thinking about you, and prayed for your day and travel while I was in the shower. We'll talk to you through Skype soon!

Mup -- no joke! It was a great time . . . I'm glad you thought so. I wasn't sure if we would be lively enough to you party animal careerians. :)

Sar -- of COURSE I want you of all people to visit! SERIOUSLY! And Joshy would LOVE to babysit. We have scarcely had the chance to do so since we moved here, and he loves kids. He would totally be up for that so we can -- as you say -- go out on the town! :) The other good thing is that since Jason is moving here, we can easily plan for sure meet-ups with G-knee!

Good times for sure. It was a bit like traveling with a pack of Japanese tourists, however...

But, I'm growing used to having a camera in my face at all times. *sigh*

You play Catan?????????????? Why am I not surprised? :)

Yes, all in all a VERY good weekend. We played Catan last night...sadly, I lost. But it was still very fun. Although, the atmosphere of a coffee shop with the rain pouring down outside is a little difficult to contend with. We'll definately have to do it again!!

Karen -- I'm a newbie! G-knee brought and taught -- and I'm hooked!

Geen -- yes, Heine Brothers is awaiting our next round. I think I figured out why people say the "Bible version" is not as fun. We have it at the bookstore, and as far as I can tell, the board is not changeable -- so you would get tired of the same layout everytime. Too easy to make it so the same people win every time. You think? Anyone played "Settlers of Canaan"? Give us a review!

Never heard of it, but we are Settlers addicts ourselves! I've played one of the expansion games, Cities and Knights, and it is even more complicated and mean! You can be very vindictive with that game! Dan and I have to watch our attitudes when we play either because we both become very competitive! If we get a chance to get together again, we will for sure play!

Thanks Gret and Josh(y)? for playing host this past weekend. It was great to get to know you all better. How fun that your sisters were able to be there too! Hope to talk to or see you soon!
